Situated only 2 miles NNW of the Inchtuthill fortress nearby the stone quarries on the Hill of Gourdie (NO1042), this camp was discovered by Flight-Lieutenant Bradley in 1941 and confirmed from the air by J.K. St. Joseph towards the end of the decade. It commands impressive views along the line of the Cleaven Dyke not possible from the site of the fortress. Two pieces of amphorae were uncovered during field-walking on the site of the fort in 1959.
