"... a small rectangular earthwork measuring c. 28 m. [about 92 feet] over the spread ramparts has been identified as a patrol-post, placed on the watershed between the Noddsdale and Skelmorlie Waters. Excavation revealed a turf rampart 3.8 m. wide, a timber gateway 2.3 m. wide on the south side, and two internal buildings made of timber, associated with Antonine pottery. After a violent destruction the fortlet was rebuilt on similar lines, still in the Antonine period. ..." (Brittania, 1971)
