| NO497574 | (648 x 404+ m) | (c.26 ha) | Discovered from the air in 1967 by J.K. St Joseph, this camp lies on the Marcus Estate, close to Marcus Cottage. There is a small annexe attached to the southern part of the west side, a situation encountered at many of the camps of the so-called '63-acre' series. The western defensive ditch was sectioned in 1987 and proved to be about 10¼ ft. wide by 4 ft. deep (3.15 x 1.2 m). The camp was aligned east-west with two gateways in each of the longer sides and a single gateway set centrally in each of the shorter sides, all defended by titulum outworks. |
