This perfectly rectangular camp lies about ½ mile (850m) W of the fort at Carvoran, to S of the Stanegate and Vallum. There are 4 gates, each protected by external tituli and internal clavicula defences, positioned in the centre of the N & S sides and off-set to the N on both the E & W sides (ratio 3:2); the camp therefore faced N. The defences are best preserved in the NE corner, where the ramparts stand 4m wide and 0.7m high and the ditch measures 3m across and 0.5m deep.
