Most of the defensive circuit of this camp may be traced, and its complete outline may be extrapolated. Its long axis appears to be oriented towards the west-north-west, but no confirmed gateways are discernable on A.P.'s. With its south-east corner lying less than 180 feet (55m) from the river, it would seem that at least part of the interior would have been unsuitable for the pitching of tents. |
