History:
  • AD41/12/30 Born, Titus Flavius Vespasianus, near the Septizonium in Rome.
  • AD40's Titus spent his childhood in the court of Claudius and became a close friend of Britannicus.
  • AD55/02/11 Titus became ill after drinking from the cup of Britannicus on the day Nero poisoned him.
  • AD61-63 tribunus militum in Germania and Britannia.
  • c.AD63 (late) marries wife1, Arrecina Tertulla, died just over a year afterwards.
  • AD64 marries wife2, Marcia Furnilla.
  • AD64 daughter born, Flavia Julia, later married to T. Flavius Sabinus III (Cos. 82), died whilst aborting Domitians child.
  • AD65 divorces Furnilla after Pisonian conspiracy.
  • AD66 appointed commander of legio XV 'Apollinaris', serving under Vespasian in the Jewish war.
  • AD69 (early) won over Mucianus, governor of Syria, to the Flavian Cause.
  • AD70 Imperator I.
  • AD71 (June) returned to Rome.

  • c.AD73 made praetorian commander by Vespasian.

  • c.AD80 Berenice is spurned by Titus on her second visit to Rome.
  • AD81 Imp. XVI-XVII.
  • AD81/09/13 collapsed and died of fever at Vespasians villa at Aquae Cutiliae near Reate, probably of malaria, uttering the last words, 'I have made but one mistake.'
