This part-mounted unit were recruited from among the Lingones tribe of Gallia Lugdunensis, who inhabited the Plateau de Langres in the northern Bourgogne region of Central France, near Dijon. The unit is known from a single inscription - out of almost forty - from High Rochester in Northumberland dated to AD139-43, also on four inscriptions from Lanchester in Durham, two of them dated to c.AD238-44. The unit is possibly attested at Corbridge in Northumberland on an undated stone which, unfortunately, is missing the unit number.
