Situated just inside the Welsh border on a wooded hill nortrh of Kington, this large fort of around 20 acres (c.8ha) was protected by multiple stone-revetted ramparts with medial ditches. The main entrance, protected by extra defences, lay on the north-west while a smaller gateway pierced the defences on the north-east.
